Subject: [NTDs CWG] Notes: Uniting to Combat NTDs CWG call (14 August 2017)
Hi all,
Thank you again for joining this month’s CWG call! Please see notes and actions items below.
We are excited to welcome several new members to the CWG, but may not have caught everyone’s name during the call. If you or your colleagues were present during Monday’s meeting but do not see your name(s) listed below, please feel free to let me know so we can ensure that you are included on the calls moving forward.
Lastly, just a reminder that we will be moving next month’s call back by a week given the holiday weekend in the US. I will send a revised call invite shortly.
All best,
Sang-Hee

NOTES
 NTD case studies
o Thomas (Uniting to Combat NTDs) is gathering case studies for the fifth progress report, which will be launched on Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Day in December. They are especially interested in case studies linking NTDs and UHC, but also welcome any case studies that tie NTDs to poverty eradication, disability, women and girls, stigma, mental health and WASH by the end of October.
o The report will include 2-3 case studies, and Uniting will share additional case studies on the website.
o Case studies linking NTDs and UHC should include themes such as well-trained health workers, access to safe and correct treatments/medicines, financing systems without creating financial hardship and effective and efficient government health information systems.
o For further details, please see the case study guidance document (attached), circulated by Thomas. To submit case studies or ideas, please use the case study submissions spreadsheet here.
 NTD data
o GHS will discuss key NTD stats with WHO as soon as possible this month and send updates to the group via email before next month’s call.
o Partners can continue sending GHS additional NTD statistics to be added to the NTD facts repository, which will be revised regularly as updated data becomes available.
 Partner updates
o UN General Assembly (September)
Representatives from the END Fund will be attending several events, including the Bloomberg event on SDGs.
GHS is happy to organize a meet-up for any partners who will be in town.
o END7 Campaign
The Sabin Vaccine Institute is wrapping up the END7 campaign, and Emily is moving on to the Maternal and Child Health Advocacy Team at World Vision in two weeks.
Sabin is crafting a series of final communications with the END7 network, which includes an email listserv of 40,000 and 100,000 followers on social media. If any partners have advocacy or communications opportunities (fundraising, project sign-ups, etc.) that they would like to share with these communities, please send this information to Emily by 17 August.
Sabin also has a community of 1,300 university students (both undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines) across 12 different countries who have participated in END7 chapters or supported the campaign in other ways. If any partner organizations would like to mobilize or mentor these students, please reach out to Emily to get connected.
 AOB
o The next NTD CWG call will be pushed back to Monday, 11 September; GHS will send out a revised calendar invite this week.
