Dear all,

Tomorrow marks an important milestone in the global fight against neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) – and we need your help to spread the word.

As you read this email, global policy leaders, NTD experts, country leadership from NTD-endemic countries and others are preparing for the NTD Summit in Geneva, Switzerland. Hosted by Uniting to Combat NTDs, the World Health Organization (WHO) and partners from 18-22 April, the NTD Summit will celebrate incredible progress against NTDs and chart the way forward.

There’s already so much to celebrate. This past weekend, the UK announced that it would double its financial support for the global NTD effort, committing £360m over the next four years. Here’s how you can help amplify this news:

·         Tweet a quotegraphic by Priti Patel, UK Secretary of State for International Development, that affirms the UK’s commitment to tackle NTDs: “Thank you @DFID_UK and @patel4witham for your leadership in the fight to #beatNTDs http://buff.ly/2ppkuUR pic.twitter.com/kaWgmHc8vN

·         Retweet @DFID_UK’s tweet on the UK’s financial support for NTD efforts: “UK aid will protect over 200 million people from disability & serious disfigurement caused by neglected tropical diseases #BeatNTDs #NTDs pic.twitter.com/QMt4UV5ZVV

And we’re just getting started. The NTD Summit officially kicks off tomorrow with the following exciting events:

·         WHO Global Partners Meeting (9am-6pm CEST): The day will open with the launch of WHO’s Fourth Report on NTDs and sessions thereafter will focus on themes including country achievements, health system strengthening and domestic financing. Click here to watch the meeting livestream.

·         Uniting to Combat NTDs Evening Reception: Uniting to Combat NTDs will host a dinner and reception that will celebrate achievements combatting NTDs and honor the contributions of women. Click here to tweet about this event.

Whether you’re in Geneva or following along from afar, our NTD Resource Hub (password: globalhealth2017) has everything you need to join the conversation. Watch this space for conference updates and exclusive digital materials – and feel free to send us any assets you’d like to include in our content library.

Stay tuned for more!

Best,
Aanjalie
