Hi all,
Attached is an advocacy paper developed by Path, a product development partnership and DSW, a Brussels/Germany based development organization, advocating for the inclusion of global health research in FP9 the next budget framework of the European Commission after Horizon2020 ends.
The language is quite broad and is not specific to investment in R&D for new tools and is open to all types of innovation. If your organization would like to sign up to this paper please send a high resolution logo to Lisa Goerlitz (email below). If you have any questions on the paper or FP9 budget process do feel free to let me know.
Best wishes,

Subject: call for sign on: innovation for SDGs
Dear all,
I hope you are having a nice start into this sunny week.
I would like to share with you the attached paper developed by Path and DSW in collaboration with partners from the environmental and development sectors.
“INVESTING IN INNOVATION TO ACHIEVE THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
The role of the next EU Framework for Research and Innovation FP9”
The paper calls on the EU to focus the efforts of the future framework programme for research and innovation on the implementation of the SDGs. It includes case studies on global health, nutrition, and climate change.
The SDGs are currently absent from the discussions on the next framework programme. Also societal challenges in general, and the importance of science technology and innovation to tackle societal challenges, are not prominently addressed in current discussions.
This is why we feel it is important to raise a strong voice of a broad coalition to highlight the issues covered in the attached position paper, and therefore warmly invite your organisations to sign on.
If you would like to sign on, please send your logo in high resolution until May 29th COB.
Many thanks in advance.
Best wishes,
Lisa
