This is just a warning to anyone who goes day tripping in the east kent
area - if anyone wants to drive to the coast at Sandwich Bay theres a hefty 6
quid toll to get onto the "private estate" its supposedly part of if you come
in via Sandwich. For this money you get ... nothing. Even the toilet blocks
are locked up. Its a total ripoff.

So a tip - don't bother going via sandwich. Get there via Deal. You'll need
a map as its a single track road which leads out from the edge of the town
through a golf course. It says dead end but its lying - its a through road
which leads to the estate and there are no toll booths.

I prefer reassuringly expensive. If you can't afford it, piss off
somewhere cheaper.

Last time I was there they let me through at no charge. However,
that is only permitted for certain types of vehicle

Lands End is a good example of that. Friendly advice, go to Cape
Cornwall instead if you are visiting the area, it's free, a better
view and is only a few meters short of being the most westerly
mainland point.

Lands End is free to get in.

There's a public footpath running through it - starting at Sennen works.

Actually, my vehicle was a bicycle. I used to live in the USA, but
even there the weapon carrying rate among cyclists seemed to be
fairly low. The bike club that I used to belong to in Washington DC
did have one member who used to carry a pistol to deal with annoying
dogs, but it was only a .22, and the first three rounds were blanks,
which presumably kept the attrition rate down.

Try and get in other way than on foot without paying.

Yes... but why would I want to? You've given your friendly advice, I've
given mine.

Though looking at their website, it appears it's better than it used to be.
They say it's now free to get in, you just pay for car parking and the
'attractions'. Which opens up certain other means of getting in which are
the subject of popular discussion :-)
