We have a Siemens DECT system at home which, currently, uses a C475IP
base station. While looking for ways to have VOIP on our little boat
in France I discovered that I also have an S685IP base station.

I was just going to take the S675IP to the boat and use it there but it
occurs to me that it *might* be better/different in ways that I might
find (more) useful at home.

So does anyone know what (if any) are the significant differences
between the C475IP and S675IP? The web interface looks pretty similar
to me, what else might differ?

I don't know, but one thing is that these systems are sold with handsets -
eg the C475IP is a base station plus C475H handsets. It may be the bases
share a common platform and the primary difference is in the handsets
shipped with the package (and associated charging bases).

(the casing looks similar to the N300(A)IP and the N510IP, but maybe the
internals are different?)

Yes, I think you're right, the different numbers simply indicate
different handsets with what is essentially the same base station.

I ran the two web configurations in two tabs on my web browser and you
couldn't even see when you switched from one to the other they were so
close to identical. All that changed was the pale grey model number
at the top!

So I think there's little point in worrying which one I take to the
boat.

460ip - 1 line + 1 Voip on 1 account
475ip - 1 line + 2 Voip on 6 accounts
N300 - 1 line + 3 Voip on 6 accounts
N510 - 4 Voip on 6 accounts

All 6 handsets IIRC

Yealink do something similar but it does 8 handsets and 8 accounts.
