I've just tried out Jami. It has an odd user interface but once I had
figured out that you have to press "advanced..." to configure SIP it was
quite straight forward. It worked on the echo test to voipfone.

Distributed, free (libre), and secure.

'straight forward' != 'straightforward'

'straight forward' to me means directly in front of me, or 'straight
on'. It's 'straightforward' that means easy/simple.

Sorry to pick this particular one, it just gets on my nerves
eventually! :-)

OK - 'straight forward' doesn't mean the same as 'straightforward' :-)
