Why does Iain from use...@hairydog.co.uk <use...@hairydog.co.uk>
like to imply that people are morons?

In several threads he has implied either myself or other people morons. Do a
search for the morons and you can see that he tends to call or imply that
people are morons.

Saturday December 1st in a thread......

He has been doing a convincing imitation of a moron for a while, at
any rate. He was politely pointed to alt.test last time he did it, but
chose to ignore that.

In that case, I wholeheartecly recommend that you take advantage of

If someone has called another moron, you should not second it.

"He has been doing a convincing imitation of a moron for a while, at any
rate."

Such a statement is definitely supporting the first person who called the
individual a moron. You are such a respected individual in this newsgroup,
you should learn to watch your mouth.

To be fair, Iain hasn't actually called you a moron.

Arguably, Alistair McGowan does a good impersonation
of Pepe from Eastenders, but he is not Pepe.

Yes, and his too is for being helpful and informative. Yours is not as
shining, and by the way, your identity can be tracked through the server you
post from just as easily as using your email addy - the info is encrypted,
but that will not stop the NTL abuse department.

He doesn't care. He has no reason to care.

Lots of people think he is a complete moron.

Luckily for Iain, however, most of the people who think he is a moron are
infact intellectually challenged themselves, which is why they resort to top
posting pathetic insults, and starting a nice big thread to whinge about an
individual.

I'm sure Iain won't loose any sleep over not having these pathetic
individuals as friends.

Those of us with an IQ higher than that of a small rodent appreciate his
knowledge and understand/tolerate his attitude towards those less 'able'
than himself.

Because he persists in making the same enquiry time after time, despite
getting sensible answers, and persists in leaving great swathes of untrimmed
garbage flowing in the wake of his comment. Completely failing to help
himself, and when others start to realise that there is no hope for him, he
ups and leaves. Suggests to me that he didn't get his quota of responses
because he was found out too soon. There seems no other reason for someone

God help us! Next you'll be talking about the superlative talent

After just visiting this group for a browse, it is quite obvious that
some people involved in it , need to grow up and get a life. Yes
there are rules to newsgroup posting, yes it can be annoying to have
to move your eyes in a different direction ..... but do you really
need to hurl abuse at somebody and drive them away from something that
DOES NOT belong to you in the first place.
In a way you are just as bad as the person you are attacking, do you
think i want to read your mindless nitpicking when i am looking for

Somehow people in this newsgroup think they own it. They often hurl abuses.
Michael Rodgers is a fine example. Calling contributors moron and in his
defence stating that it was frustration. What a joke?

They should emulate other newsgroups where people are more friendly and not
think they own the newsgroup. Even if they want to think of ownership, at
least have some regard for manners.

Blimey, well said!

The oft-quoted advice is to post only those things you would be
prepared to say if the person(s) was(were) standing in front of you,
down the pub. I dare say that if that was the case every time someone
spouted off, there's be a fair few glassed faces and broken noses on
this newsgroup. As there would be on every other newsgroup in
existence, including alt.peace.love.man.

Whose round is it? :)

Like alt.flame? There are other newsgroups if you do not like it here, and
you are free to read those. And most people who post a question to u.t.m
that is on topic and not inane get a good response.

Only townies have to participate. The rest have the option to be thinking
individuals.

There's a song which comes into mind here, which has a line which starts so:

'Isn't it ironic...'

What kind of school did you go to? Wearing that kind of thing at my school
would probably get you expelled, and out of hours quite possibly reported by
a prefect for yobbish behaviour.

Whilst you might find his behaviour disagreeable, none of what you
describe constitutes trolling. Just because someone says or does
something that you don't like, doesn't mean they're trolling. It's
rather ridiculous if you don't believe that other people might
actually *have* different views/preferences/opinions, and they're not
just behaving like that to troll you...

You mean what school do i go to....17 in a few days (legal drivin at
last.woo)...

Well i apologise for not attending a posh school like yours.....fashion's a
part of today's society... just like even if you shop at rip-off marks and
spencers you're still buying a brand aren't you.

I'm at a very very good school, where outer garments are obviously needed as
1) it's scotland and bl00dy freezing, and 2) it's now common-place in every
human in the modernised western world to purchase branded garments.
