I know that usually there are some very good deals floating around on the
mobile market, and since my contract has run out I was wondering what the
current best offers were.

I occasionally use my phone in peak time, on and cross network, for which I
have an OVP-VM sim card, maybe 5 mins per week.

Most weeks that is about it, but I do occasionally go for two weeks or so
making 200+ minutes of off peak calls per night to a 0845 number.
(Freeserve - from my ED50 sim), when I am away from home with my laptop.

In the last 3 months my bills have averaged £50 because I haven't had DSL,
but this should go down fast now.

Is there anything better that my current £15/month + 1p/5p/min? Or should I
hold onto my ED50 sim until they take it away from me, and then only give
it up in return for a large cash settlement?

TIA.

I would hold on to your ED50 Sim

But a good phone deal at the moment is Nokia 6510 on O2 offpeak 600
+ 50SMS, and 25 min crossnet offpeak
12 quid a month + 2quid IB, but you get one month free !
http://www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk/O2.HTM

Or how about Nokia 5210 on T Mobile FT750+50sms 14quid a month
and 6 months free
http://www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk/one2one.htm

Or for an alternative to ED50 on Orange
Nokia 3510 free on OVP T Mobile FT750+50sms 14quid a month
http://www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk/orange.htm

Or Nokia 5210 on Voda Off Peak 750 with 50 Free text,
12quid a month + 2quid a month IB
and 3 months free
http://www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk/voda.htm

If you buy a phone from them ?
Please quote my recommend a friend number to them, 284468
So I get a 10quid Argos voucher

Thanks

There was a T-Mobile deal a few months back called Freetime Off-peak or
something which gave you up to 3000 mins per month off-peak for £25. For
lots of evening internet usage via an ISP with a geographic number, it could
have been ideal for you. Maybe it is still possible to find someone selling
a SIM on ebay or something.

Will T Mobile allow someone to transfer a ringed Freetime plus contract,
to someone else ?

But you're probably better off buying a couple, or 3 or 4.
Current T Mobile Freetime 750 +50sms phones at 14quid a month,
with a free phone inc, and up to 6 months free rent on each,
and swap sims when you get to 750mins.
You can tell when that is, it'll be just before you give yourself brain cancer
with all those offpeak mins ! ;-)
