A quick look at Google suggests it has been discussed before but just to
confirm what I have just read on the Orange web site with regard roaming
charges - a call whilst in Spain or Greece (OVP Virgin) would be 60p per
min regardless of whether it was back to the UK or down the road to call
a local taxi ?

Ouch ! No wonder you use a calling card Steve Terry :-)

About 34p for me, last tie I checked, I think it depends heavily on the
tariff.

Haven't they just "simplified" (read increased) their charging structure?

It would appear they did - to 60p per min anytime anywhere with no
differencial between an internatioonal or local (whlst roaming) call.

With an OVP tariff it would appar they are matched when calling overseas
from the UK and receiving a call when overseas. Making a call whilst
overseas is at the Orange tariff though - 60p in the case of
Spain/Greece.

If you are on O PATG the "simple" roaming tariff is double at 120p per
min !

Ex VAT ?

These are comparable albeit a little better to the rates for T-Mobile
contract. Both also seem pretty comparable with the local (for Greece)
Panafan or Teleset(Voda) PAYT tariff which seems to be about
.49Euro/30p. Spanish PATY much better, calling cards I don't know.

That should of course have been Panafon (Vodafone) and Telestet.

Get Boomerang call back. Since incoming calls are 30p a minute, and
Boomerang charges 9p a minute to call most places in Western Europe and
North America, you'd be paying 39p a minute. While these are not great
rates, they are significantly better than the other rates.
