Hi,
I'm trying to access my pipex adsl e-mail from my new T300 phone on
the orange network.

These are the current setting I have:
Connect using: Orange Internet
Protocal: POP3
Incoming server: pop.dsl.pipex.com
Incoming port: 110
Username: username%dsl.pipex.com
password: password
outgoing server: smtp.orange.net
outgoing port: 25
e-mail address: user...@dsl.pipex.com

it calls the number, comes up with verifying for quite a long time
and then just comes up with 'cannot connect to server'

The orange internet data account has the following information:
phone number: +447973100273
username: <blank>
password: <blank>
password request: off
data rate 9.6 kbit/s
dial type: isdn
dns address: ...

Has anybody any ideas what might be causing the error message.
Cheers
Andrew

Don't try connecting to the hostname and connect to the ip address of

The Orange.net dial-up ceased some weeks ago. You need a new data account, or
Orange GPRS.

Can still receive pop3 and relay Orange.net mail through Freeserve dial up
Orange sent out letters to all it's orange net users
telling them how to change their settings.

Unfortunately Freeserve don't have a 07973 access number
only 0845 and some 0870 numbers diverted to it

Hi,
Thanks for the info....
So does somebody have a set of information (data account & email
settings) that they could share with me, as I've tried to create a
freeserve dial up account and connect via that, but i'm still not
having any look.
Thanks
Andrew

Is your Freeserve dial up working OK ?

Then you use your orange.net settings in your mailer,
with "my server requires authentication" On
