replace .co.uk with .net to reply
Assuming you're registered with orange net, log in, click "my account",
re-enter your password. Select which phone number you have registered (its
in the drop down box below your user name), wait for that to open, and then
hit "send a text message" Put a dot in the box "Send as if from 07xxx
xxxxxx" and type your message.
The costs are whatever it would cost you to SMS from your mobile. e.g. 10p

Thanks for that Gari. I'd been clicking 'send text message' as soon as I'd
logged on to the site and the option to "Send as if etc" wasn't offered.
this service is only available to contract users AFAIK
Cheers James.

So they're not taken out of the x free per day on orange.net's offering?

Orange.net give you 30 a month free but these SMS's have a different
originating number i.e. not your own orange number and the recipient can't
reply directly to this number.
G
Ah, but they *can* reply to that number (and AFAIK get charged for the
privilege!) but that reply just gets swallowed up in the Orange refuse bin.
Sorry, thats what I meant to write, that you can't reply to the _person_
that sent it.
Thanks,
G
I agree it would be much better if the sender just said 'Orange' rather than
a number then the phone would refuse to send a reply to it.
