Is ending a Vodafone contract early easy enough? I know that I'll have
to pay off the line rental cost up to the end of my minimum contract,
but do they take my extras pack into account or do they just charge me
the basic line rental rate?

If you have less than 6 months left, lower the tariff then pay it off?

I'm already on the lowest tariff (Anytime 75 with Stop The Clock - I
think that's the lowest), but was just wondering if they will charge me
for the extras pack too I should I cancel the Extras pack before I
request to end contract early.

Hi,

I work for Vodafone and can help advise you on the termination process.

To cancel you'd need to provide a 30 day notice period by either letter
or fax. If you have an extras pack on your account I'd also recommend
you cancel this for the final 30 days.

The termination fee would only reflect the line rental of the contract
itself until the end of your commitment. This is exclusive of VAT and
doesn't include charges for extra's packs, insurance etc.

You can cancel your contract by sending the following information to
Vodafone:

1- Your billing address in full.
2- Your date of birth.
3- Your landline contact number.
4- Your payment method.
5- Your account and mobile number.
6- Your signature.

Please send your request either by fax to 08701616500 or by post to the
following address:

Vodafone Ltd
PO Box 549
Banbury,
OX17 3ZJ

If you're still in contract commitment you do receive a standard letter
via post informing you of your shortfall / termination fee. This letter
includes a phone number that you can then make a quick call to,
accepting the termination fee and Vodafone's disconnections department
do the rest.

Alternatively, you can state in the letter that you're prepared to
pay the termination fee, which would avoid the need for you to have a
letter sent back to you telling you about the fee.

The letter does need to be signed, and you should expect to receive a
response within 5 working days of us receiving the letter.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Hello...

I'm moving abroad and need to cancel/transfer my Vodafone 18mo contract
early at month #7. Is there a way to get out of the contract based upon
the fact that I will be moving out of their coverage area (abroad)?

I ask because cancellation of my T-Mobile UK contract years ago was
granted w/o the payment of a termination fee or remaining monthly costs.
I was hoping Voda does the same.

The pay monthly operators must have get outs of some kind for people who
are dead, mad, or in prison; there must be precedents for people who
move overseas for instance company moves abroad, the services, and so
on.

I doubt they will let you out altogether but there might be a
compromise. I think some operators will allow you a 'trade down' during
the contract - so maybe you could limit your losses that way.

Why not ask Vodafone?

Faxing of a death certificate is required.

Don't know about those two.

Why? It's the customers choice to move, the network is not forcing them.

Sensible advice!

If you want to disconnect early, the remainding line rental will need
to be paid in advance. The only exceptions to this are death,
imprisonment, or a network fault that will not be resolved. If the
customer is in the armed forces and is called to serve abroad, the
account will be suspended, however it will resume at the end of the
tour of service

Or a breach of the T&C by Vodafone.
