Have o2 increased there pay & go orginal call charges? I remember they
used to charge 2p per minute at weekends but when I looked at their
web-site today the call charges had changed to the following -

Standard Calls
Daytime (Mon-Fri)
35p

Evening (Mon-Fri)
10p

Weekends
10p


O2 Mobiles
Daytime (Mon-Fri)
20p

Evening (Mon-Fri)
10p

Weekends
10p


Other Network Mobiles
Daytime (Mon-Fri)
50p

Evenings & Weekends
30p

I emailed O2 regarding this and below is their reply

The Pay & Go Original tariff changed for new activation from
01/10/2002. Therefore, only these members will be charged at the
revised rates.

Due to the fact that you activated before this date, your calling plan
remains at the previous call rates of 2p per minute at the weekend to
O2 mobiles and UK fixed line numbers.

But is there now a 5p minimum charge..? One of the main reasons I keep my
O2 PAYG SIM is that for a short call at the weekend (i.e. "I'll be home in
half an hour, get the kettle on..!") I only had to pay 2p, whereas with
Orange (my main phone) there is now a 5p min. charge.
