Hi,

I know that when you start a contract the usual case is that you'll pay less
for the phone when you take out a more expensive contract, but is increasing
you monthly spend with "add ons" also included in that/accounted for aswell?
Reason i ask is that i want an orange contract, probably 120min cross
network, and will add a GPRS package, a text bundle and insurance to that.
Does adding these "extras" give me anymore power to negotiate the initial
phone price?

Thanks
Neil

The price boundaries are set as 0-25 25-50 and 50 +, you must be getting a
lot of extras for it to go above 50. Have you looked at any of Oranges
current offers though, they may change your mind, eg. 2000 Free texts etc,
have a look at the site.

Dealers can offer a better overall package as dealers make margins
on the extras customer choose [assuming the customers keep them
for 4 months min].

yeah i understand that - not getting the phone till contract runs out in
jan so will check what the deals are then. Just wanted to see what the case
was. unfortunatly i'm addicted to smartphones so not many options at the
moment in the uk :-(

O retail also make margin on extras, but they are not counted as far as
handset price goes.
