Yes, the mobile network doesn't reflect 100% the geographic area codes.

Is it really that important to you? It's of no benefit.

I believe this dates back to the early days when Vodafone first began
their GSM network. There were different charging bands for calls then,
and you could make local calls to the area code in which your mobile
was operating for less than a national call would cost. The area code
shown by the Cell Info display indicated which numbers you could dial
at the local rate.
