You seem to have missed out O2, which are pretty good apart for the data.

Although on Orange you can get contract cashback deals from dealers like
e2save,
and doing it through quidco getting an extra cashback.

Orange are the most expensive with useless customer service.
T-Mobile don't include voicemail in your allowance and the network
coverage is generally very poor.
3 require you have a 3G phone. I have several but calls never drop
back from 3G to 2G so frequently get cut off. (Using a payasyou SIM,
but I'm guessing they're all similar)

O2 and Vodafone - great. O2 are good as you can send picture messages
and make video calls using your text/voice allowance respectively.
Vodafone seem more reliable and you can use conference calling and get
text delivery reports etc which aren't available on O2.

You can get £100 cash back on the O2 £20 12-month deal from www.topcashback.co.uk
And £70 for the Vodafone £20 12-month tariff which has now been
improved (900mins, unlimited texts & internet). I think Quidco may
have slightly more cashback but charge £5/year fee. Topcashback will
match Quidco's price I believe...

Voicemail is included on T-Mobile Flext and FOC on some older tariffs
AFAIK including pre-pay.

I get conference calling on o2, but maybe because it's a business
account. o2 do offer text delivery reports, it might not show on the
handset/can set permanently on/automatic, need to request each time by
putting *0# in front of text message.

Indeed on some tariff's T-Mobile include voicemail but on the SIM only
Solo plans it's not, as far as I know.

Do you mean conference calling as in the ability to connect 2 calls
and then press 'options > conference/join' from the phone's menu? If
so, that's interesting as I thought it was only for pay monthly &
business iPhone customers.
The *0# thing does work and I've known about it for a while but it's
not really convenient...at least not when you want reports frequently.

Yes, direct conferencing by joining up live calls using phones menu as
you say, you can join more than two together, regardless if they're
inbound or outbound calls or mixture of the two. (I did state it was a
business account).
Three offer this feature, including pre-pay (well for incoming calls
anyway) not tried outbound, but don't see why not.
Generally mobile conferencing is upto a maximum six calls at any one
time.

There are indirect services like http://www.03talk.com/ you might want
to look at, using standard 03xx access, where all participants call
into the system using a virtual room number and pin.

o2 offer call transfer on business as well, now that's a nice
feature :) no other network offers this AFAIK, T-Mobile offered it a
long time ago, I think it was marketed with/around the time of the old
precept tariffs, only if you still have this you keep it.

If you want text delivery reports all the time on o2, yes that can be
a pain, next best option is to set-up a text template or similar, so
the prefix is in place each time you text, though I suppose your
losing what could be a valuable three characters each time.

I've done conference calling with Orange each call comes out of your
inclusive minutes. I had about 6 at once for a laugh :)

:) Yes, Orange do offer this, you have to request it to be added to
your account, it's a FOC feature, only cost are when you use/call
charges if they apply.

With Three it comes as standard, you just use straight away.

I've used it on Orange and Vodafone. O2 have never heard of it when
I've tried to get it activated on my account - I guess it must just be
for business customers, annoyingly!

WWhat's wrong with O2's data? I thought the simplicity deal online with
unlimited web looked pretty good as was considering jumping there from
my 3 contract.
