LG KC500 Message indicator wont go away

My mate has an LG KC500 and the message recieved indicator flag keeps
flashing but he has deleted all the messages. Answers anyone?

Nope tried that no voice messages.

We are also going to put a sim card in it with no messages on it to
see if that clears it.
