I have been researching the SPV Smartphones with interest - they seem to
fulfil the criteria of a good business phone along with good PDA facilities.
Up to now they have been too bulky for my tastes but I read that the SPV
C500 is about to be released which is only 100g and 18mm thick.

Has anyone used an SPV phone before and would you consider upgrading to the
C500?

The Orange M1000 (aka SPV 2020) also looks interesting but once again it's
the weight factor that puts me off - fine as a PDA but too big and heavy for
a phone in my opinion. The C500 could be the happy medium I'm looking for.

I've had an SPV E100 for a year and I've certainly found it to be good.
However, I've just switched to using a Nokia 6600 and am thrilled with
it. The SPVs are good, but I found it to have annoying slow downs at
times, such as mid way through typing a message the busy icon would come
up and keys would stop respondng. I son't know if its been fixed in
Windows Mobile 2003 used in the SPV E200 and the new ones coming out
(MPx220, MPx100, C500 etc.).

As for the M10000, I use the O2 equivalent, the XDA II for work purposes
and call quality is good, battery life a lot better than I expected, and
it's fast. But as you say, it's bulky (though not as bad as I thought
it'd be on the balt).

I had considered upgrading, but thought I'd try out the Nokia, and if I
didn't like it I could put the Vodafone SIM into the SPV. But I've found
I like the Nokia a lot and I'm sticking with it (well, at least for 12
months).
