I note that it a "photo message (up to 50kb)" is 5p cheaper to send than
a text message while roaming on Orange pay monthly. But what exactly
counts as a photo message? If I create a picture message on my SE K750,
I can add text, as well as sound and video, although I guess the latter
would constitute a (more expensive) video message.

The info for Picture messaging on Orange's website states:

"You can take a photo, add text or a voice clip, and send it directly to
anyone with a Photo Messaging phone on a UK network. "

If this applies to messages sent while roaming too, how much text can be
added to a photo message? You could fit an awful lot in 50KB (I assume
that's what they mean).

ne...@leuty.me.uk declared for all the world to hear...

I seem to remember it's limited to 1000 characters.
