Dear Customer,
Due to unprecedented demand following the NEC e808 promotion we have been
unable to obtain any further handsets from our supplier '3' and are
currently out of stock. Therefore your order has been cancelled and you will
not be charged.
Phone4U.com hope to source new stock as soon as possible and will endeavour
to inform you via our website, as soon as new handsets arrive. Should you
wish to take advantage of any future offers on the e808 or any other of our
products we would respectfully ask you to re-make your order.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope you continue to use our
site for your telecommunication requirements. As always we promise to bring
you unprecedented mobile phone offers as soon as they are available.
We sincerely thank you for using phone4u.co.uk
Kind Regards,
Phone4U.com
All order details are treated with the strictest of confidence and will not
be passed on to any third party or used for any promotional purposes.

So I guess I have to ask how many people actually received 'free' phones
from phone4u and how many, like me, were told they were out of stock.
Take care,
Mark..........

Shame that you then decided to quote nearly 60 lines of material in
order to tell us something we already knew.
Clueless top-posting fuckwits theory proved... again :-(

Ah, such are the perils of taking the time to writing a nicely formatted
news posting which is easy to read rather than one where you can't tell
what was part of the original email and what was added. *8')
For those who were wondering, I placed my order on Sunday evening and
got an order conformation Monday 11 August 2003 09:13:31.
Has ANYONE actually got one free???
> Has ANYONE actually got one free???
Mine came free (2 x 808s 1 on VT750, 1 on 3togo) but I used a different site
(www.mobileshop.com) - but there are plenty of them out there offering this
deal (www.time2talk.co.uk & www.themobilerepublic.com to name just two of
them). Also got a free half-decent DVD player with mine... And free
delivery.
Shop around....
I spoke to phone4u and apparently they were promised large quantities
of stock earlier this week by Three.
This stock went yesterday to a large retail chain, and they're royally
p*ssed off about it. They're still hoping to get some in at the same
time but have cancelled orders to break the news ASAP and avoid
disappointment at a later stage.
The deal with getting a free e808 on 3togo if you get one on VT750 is a
very different beast to the deal to get a free e808 on its own. The
former ties you in to quite a high monthly charge contract.

The mobile republic only seem to have Motorola A830 for £227.99 on 3togo
and the only NEC phone they have is the e808Y for £156.99 on 3togo! Time
2 talk say that the e808 is out of stock but that as with the e808Y they
charge £39.99 for the phone.
Again, both of these are a far cry from the phone4u free phone offer we
are talking about in this thread.
they have changed their price over the course of today then because I placed
and order early in the afternoon for £39.99 on 3 to go. other websites I
looked at today have also either raised the price or stopped selling them
(a1comms).

39.99 UKP or 0 UKP - either are peanuts for the phone.
Both offers must be being heavily subsidised by 3.
