Have registered my free SIM that I got on the Internet with Orange by
ringing up and they gave me my number. Got the SIM updates, and texts that
told me I had 300 free texts and free 1mb data.

I imagine that I'll be able to check my balance on-line, so I go to register
at "your account". I get as far as them asking me to enter my number. I do
so and it says "Sorry, this service is only available to Orange customers".
Anyone know why it's not registering? Orange gave me £1 free credit, so I
used this to dial another mobile and hang up, and see what number was left
in the missed calls, and it's the same as the one I put in. What gives?

Also, this 300 free texts they've given me is rather at odds with the free
UK evening calls and 3000 free evening and weekend texts for £15 top-up, as
the message telling me about my 300 free texts says I get another 300 when I
top up by £10. But I thought for £10 top up I got free UK evening calls, and
for £15 top-up, 3000 free evening and weekend texts as well as the free
evening calls. Have they put me on a different tariff?

Is there a freephone number for them? Technical support seems a little
pricey at 50p/min.

Speak to Orange as only they will know what agreement you have with them.
Is that too obvious?
