152 Billing Enquiries talk 0:01:02 0.000
Further to a recent thread on the subject, I've just got my Orange
bill after making two test calls to Telediscount's two 0844 numbers.
In both cases the calls were NOT included in inclusive minutes and
were charged as follows (direct paste):

19:53 08444620620 Personal Number Services talk 0:01:37 0.202
19:55 08445660660 Personal Number Services talk 0:00:40 0.083

Doing the sums it looks like both numbers are charged at 15p/min (inc.
vat); despite the fact that the first is charged at 2p/min and second
at 5p/min by BT. From memory I think that the same charge is made by O
for 0871 numbers.

Hi Peter,

Are you sure? I have been using Telediscount for 6 months now and Orange has
never charged me.
I am on ED50 and I have read that this is the only tariff where is free.
It might be that you are using a different tariff now.
By the way I use 0871 numbers as well and no charge (so far)

Of course they are inclusive but now we are discussing on 0844 nos.

How do I know which range of 0871 nos. are included in inclusive mins.
on ED50??
I have ever made 0871s on ED50 but they were non-inclusive, so that I
assume all 0871 is non-inclusive. Would I have to test each of 0871
nos. and wait for bill confirmed inclusive or exclusive?

You need to be a little more specific. Telediscount have lots of
access numbers. They seem to encompass almost all of the available
ones. I'm certainly sure that ED50 doesn't include 08444 620 620
(Telediscount's 2p/minute) and 08445 660 660 (Telediscount's 5p/min)
because I've just seen it charged on my bill today. The two lines
included in my post were direct copy/pastes of my bill from the Orange
website and I hadn't used up any inclusive minutes that day.

The interesting thing is that while I was writing this reply I went
off to the www.magsys.co.uk site to their 'Codelookup' page and keyed
in both of Telediscount's 0844 numbers. They both came up as being on
the 'g6' tariff band which is charged by BT at 5p/min. I'm pretty
certain (but I can't be absolutely sure) that I did the same check a
few days ago and that I got a different answer from Magsys for the
2p/min number. It looks like www.magsys.co.uk is in error about the 2p
rate or that Telediscount are in error. Does anyone know who's right?

>I am on ED50 and I have read that this is the only tariff where is free.

Again, you have to specify which access number you're talking about.

>It might be that you are using a different tariff now.

Nope! I'm definitely on Everyday 50.

>By the way I use 0871 numbers as well and no charge (so far)

That's interesting. I have a friend who rings Brazil using
Telediscount's 0871 9 998998 number from an ED50 account that I set up
for her. She gets charged at 15p/min. Steve Terry has suggested in
another post on this thread that 0871 2 ****** may be included in ED50
inclusive minutes but that's not relevant to Telediscount.

The plot thickens! Can you verify and post back?

The definitive sources are of course the BT offical price
list(http://www.serviceview.bt.com/list/current/docs/Call_Charges/00253.htm),
and the Oftel allocation list
(http://www.oftel.gov.uk/ind_info/numbering/download.htm)

The answer is that the 08444 620 620 number is in the 2p price band.

I don't want to call them because they have different answers. Have
you got that list and post it here?

Thanks Peter.
All I know now from you is 0844 are exclusive and their rate are
15p/min. approx. in off-peak in any tariffs like OVP Virgin, etc. I
suppose.

According to someone (Steve??)said before, the TD 08712777777 may be
inclusive.

And also someone said before here that Voda 20 seems that TD's 0844
are inclusive. True or False?
