I'm considering upgrading my dial-up to ADSL but have a couple of
questions which hopefully you guys will be able to help with. At the
moment I'm probably going to go for Pipex (although any other
reccomendations gratefully accepted)
1. Will all the additional equipment that I need be an ADSL modem, eg
Dabs cheapy one and some splitters ?
I can't see me needing a router and have plenty of spare slots in my
pc for the PCI type modem (PC is XP1800, 256MB DDR)
2. Reading the info on the Pipex site it states that I need a splitter
for each socket, presumably this is only if I have something plugged
into the socket ie unused sockets can be left as they are
3. On a couple of sockets I have a doubler (eg Phone and answering
machine) in these cases can I have 1 splitter and then the doubler or
will I have to use the doubler and 2 splitters
Thanks for your help
