freeuk website says 22.99 ?????
> 1. Claranet currently provides the technical end of FreeUK's ...
Any rumours of a split ? I'd think plenty would be happy with the 10G
and could pay another 29.99 for a second a/c used with authentication
(don't think I made changes to my settings when dialled into Clara,
even though I needed the user/pass for access from outside), so 20G
for about 50 quid less a year :-)
> 3. Claranet customers get free access to mail filters ...
Free Clara address + filters + not broadcast FreeUK address :-)
> 4. Claranet's local newsgroups ... FreeUK's are not
but infrequent queries about FreeUK have been answered, and similar
individuals post any announcements. Not sure that FreeUK can ever be
described as given second-class service, and I think both are on 0845
numbers for support, so no penalty /if/ one needs to get support. It
is still in the top 3 for my second ADSL ISP :-)
> 5. Claranet have available a large number of business products
I thought one of the few extras was a static IP address, but most
or all of Clara's business products aren't tied to a Claranet ADSL/
dial-up accounts, are they ? Peter M.

Yes, must admit that I didn't know that at the time, as your sig on
another post (Director of Sales Claranet UK Ltd.) wasn't known to
me (though I'd read most of the info in that thread) and my seeing
the derby.org meant I was thinking you were "just a user" posting!!
Surely some...@uk.clara.net (?) would be more sensible ?

so whether someone was using FreeUK or some other ISP isn't really
significant when choosing business products. The important part
(virus checking) presumably depends only on having a suitable
e-mail address (which I do :-)) Peter some...@clara.net
