Any views on the above router?
Good, bad, problems, etc?
I'm already with PlusNet, and it is on offer if I sign a year's contract to
their new service.

There's been a bit of bad press about the Thompson routers recently with
them supposedly having a security problem which one side state is fixed
whilst others state it hasn't.

I personally have had little interest in the argument, but I think you aught
to do a Google and then make up your own mind

Worked very well for me on demon until I enabled the wireless, and then
occasionally locked up (twice or more a week). Turned out multicast
music packets on my local LAN was causing it headaches.
If you setup is simple then so is the setup. However for the advanced
stuff there are hundreds of undocumented options which slowly drive you
mad. now have a draytek 2820

Only been running mine for 9 months, but no problems and holding 3Mb/s
with 61dB attenuation. If you feel a need for a challenge, you can save
the setup to a file, edit and write it back :-)

The only thing I'd now add to the above is the fact that some of my
devices /occasionally/ have issues seeing others on the network -
something that doesn't happen with some other routers I own.
