Hi All,

I plan to implement Internet access for my workplace with ADSL. I
understand the 2600 ADSL WIC module is Alcatel based and therefore
suitable for connection to BT's service. I would configure NAT and
use the Cisco firewall feature set. Has anyone actually done this in
this group and advise me on relevant BT settings or other issues
invlved in this? I will be using a Cisco 2620 with fast ethernet to
our backbone.

Thanks,

Carl

I use a WIC-1ADSL in a 1720 and it works great.
There isn't anything special to the config - just like all the other
routers - DMT, VCMUX (aal5mux) VPI 0 VCI 38, chap authentication.

Here are a few people who posted their 827 (the 827 has a fixed ADSL
port) configs:
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&selm=Xns90D2991FA87E0JonathanNrgUpCom%40212.23.8.2&rnum=4
.. erm.. I know there are two more, I just can't find them.

Any config from an 827 or 1417 should work. Just do a groups.google
search for either 827,1417 or WIC-1ADSL.

Either way: 1.The hardware works: the WIC-1ADSL definately does train
and remains stable on BT Ignite's ADSL network.
2.The Software works: I've used IOS 12.1(3)XP3 successfully, so
anything after that should work too.

As always keep your eye out on groups.google for specific
hardware/software problems.

Mr. Mouse.
