We have a ADSL line from Demon with a Ethernet Hub (the rebaged ones
from BT)
I am getting an ADSL self install service from the same ISP at home
installed.
Am I right in assuming that if I was to plug in the router from here
to the line at home it will work provided the home line is active.
My understanding is that all ADSL line connect to the same BT ATM
cloud and ISPs pick the IP traffic from the cloude based on the
username and password.
I just want to test the home ADSL line before I purchase my own
router.
Any info would be helpful
Thanks in advance
it might do, but it would defintely work if you put your username and
password in.
ive heard of stealing stationery from offices but this is too far.... ;)

No I am not stealing it, I am borrowing it with the full prmission
from my employer. They (my employer) will be paying for the line at
home since I am one of the geeks at work :-))

Only problem may be if the works service is fixed IP etc, then there
may be a problem as the router is configured to the specific end user.
It will work if your works service is NAT/DHCP...
