Hello,

Here's a few litttle queries:

Will using an ADSL filter on a normal analogue phone improve it's
'performance' i.e. give it better reception - more like a digital
phone?

I currently have a OneTel 'smart box' plugged into my my main
telephone socket, (the PC external modem is plugged into an
extension), will there be a conflict between the ADSL filter & the
smart box........and how do the connections work at the BT socket?

The Sky+ satellite box is wired into the main telephone socket -
how/do I need to include a ADSL filter with the Sky+ box?

With BT Broadband, ( Openworld or normal), would I be able to just
click open my Outlook Express and access my email accounts, i.e. like
this virgin net one.

I currently use Freeserve, (£12.99 a month), to access the net - I
presume I would discontinue this account once the BT Broadband is set
up ? (I do not use a Freeserve email address - only the dial-up to
access the web).

Finally, as I do only use Freeserve as a dial up, and have my email
accounts configured through Outlook Express - will setting up BT
Broadband be a better option for me than setting up BT Openworld,
OR.......would it be smarter to set-up BT Openworld with the offer of
no connection fee before 31st July - and just ignore all the 'frills'
that come with it?

Thanks to everyone for the forthcoming answers :)

I can only answer on sky, but you dont need that plugged in and it can
deteriorate the adsl. You only need sky plugged into the phoneline if you
use the dial up interactive

news to me... my master socket has a socket doubler plugged in, providing
BT style sockets for the microfilter and my router (Conexant 4-port). The
filter only has the BT socket in use, with another socket doubler, giving
me a socket for my Easicom caller display/speakerphone, and Sky digibox,
and a connection to a second room, where there's a modem, phone and caller
display, and another extension to a different floor in the house, where a
caller display and phone are plugged in. Works fine and no speed probs!

It can on some lines. Depends on the quality of the line.
