Hi all,

Have ADSL with BT internet..
Running an exchange server (Ver. 2003)
does anyone know if BTinternet are blocking port 25..
outbound smtp stays in the queue..

unable to send to recipient server...
Netstat -a shows outbound smtp to www.btinternet.com:smtp instead of the
recipient servers...

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Doz

Btopenworld (are btinternet and btopenworld the same isp??) were
blocking 25 when i left last year, dont know if they still are but i
presume they didnt bow to the pressure of their users.

Correct. Officially Port 25 is closed, but _some_ find it open.

I am on BTB with Exchange 200 server. No problems reported here.

Are you sure the recieving domain exists? This would cause messages to stay
in the queue till they time out and get returned to sender. Default is 2
days.

They certainly used to block port 25. Have you setup Exchange to use a
smarthost rather than DNS?

thanks
