I've currently got a simple Netgear FS108 and I've run out of ports
(print server, DSL router etc..) and was wondering if anyone knew of any
cheapo _managed_ switches?

I know it's overkill for the home but I was hoping to have the ability
to VLAN and partition off certain ports and maybe configure one or two
ports as traffic monitoring ports. MAC filtering would be good too. I
think a 12 port switch would be enough (maybe even an eight porter). I
was looking at Cisco but thought that maybe there are cheaper
alternatives. I know you get what you pay for blah blah blah, but are
there any budget alternatives?

I'd also prefer not to have a hugely loud rack mount switch.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Derf.
