adsl wireless network option's

I have a linksys ethernet broadband wireless router on ntl cable. soon we
are moving to an area that has no cable so i am looking at an adsl
connection.
The plan was to buy just an adsl ethernet modem and connect it to the
wireless router however all the adsl modems i have seen so far have a router
built in as well. will there be any problems if i use one of these,
effectively connecting a router to a router.

there are ethernet modems, for example the one reviewed at

the answer to your question depends on the router you have and the
functionality you want to use. An ADSL router will have a DHCP server
as will your router, so one of them needs to be turned off (or to
detect the other and turn its own off). Some "fancy" features like
filtering or firewalls may need your router to have the external IP
address to work - the xmodem above can provide this but most adsl
modem/routers will have the external IP themselves.

I have a router connected to a router and it works fine.

worth reading your manual to see what options there are to turn stuff
off. Does your wireless router have an "access point only" mode, for
example. If you currently put your account details into a cable modem
that then presents an ethernet connection to the wireless router the
situation will be the same with an ADSL modem/router.
