Hi all,

I've just rebuilt my PC and reinstalled outlook, now when I try to send mail
via mail.btinternet.com for some addresses I get a 550 error bounced back
(Relaying denied). I suspect this is a problem with the BT mailserver as
some e-mails do get through some of the time - can anyone confirm this?

Furthermore, I'm getting pretty sick of the BT e-mail service (I already
pick up my POP3 from a different account on a different server) - who can
recommend a good SMTP service? (My website provider easyspace don't provide
outgoing mail)

Thanks All,
Jonathan Rowe

get yahoo, there pop3 access is good, and you can also access via the web.

Do you have your from address set correctly? They may only allow posts from
us...@btinternet.com addresses.

Running your own SMTP server is pretty trivial, try qmail for nix,
www.qmail.org, or argosoft for windows, www.argosoft.com

Just FYI, We've been having problems with BT Internets Mail servers
all week. I'm just glad that we have a Freeserve account too.
