Hi all,

Next month I will be ordering BT Broadband. I currently have two
machines and would like them to share the connection (to the internet
via the broadband)

They are connected currently via 2 networks card to a small Netgear
FS105 hub/switch.

I believe the BT Broadband is USB? I would like to get a router, but
how are the connections made / confiured.

Does the ASDL modem plug into the router?? Can someone give me a brief
mp?

I guess all will become clearer when I have all the hardware.

Thanks to all

Glen

Have a look at the website below, there is some suggested routing diagrams
on it.

Try http://www.homenethelp.com/web/diagram/index.asp. US site, but loads of
network diagrams - and you get to see how cheap ADSL is in the States!

Glen,

My set-up is an ADSL router (an SAR703 from www.solwise.co.uk) plug into the
"uplink" port of a switching hub using an ordinary ehternet patch lead that
comes with the SAR703 (or you could alternatively use a 'crossover' lead
into an ordinary port of a hub).

Hope this helps !
