Hi,

I live in the Docklands, right next to Island Gardens park (E14 3..),
but the BT ADSL availability checker tells me I'm more than 5.5 km's
from the Poplar exchange.

Can anybody recommend options? Is the NTL Wireless trial worth looking
into?

regards,
Michael Snell

Try visiting www.awellconnected.com. They are slap bang in the middle of the
docklands, have a wireless node and access to rather a lot of bandwidth.

Thanks Joe - will look into that. Interestingly, the Demon
availability checker:

https://www.olr.uk.demon.net/cgi-bin/demon-adsl/signup.cgi

tells me I can get ADSL - is it just less accurate than the BT one,
which tells me I can't?

I know some people have found these online checkes less than accurate. Other
will be able to advise you how to go about geting a physical test, which is
really the only way you'll be sure about it. Try talking to BT directly. If
it doesn't work out, there are other options to try than ADSL, and you are
in the centre of a number of them.

Did you know Docklands is where a major fibre link from the US enters our
country? Tap into that and you'd get serious bandwidth.
