BBC 4 HD recording failure

This lunchtime, I had the F1 Mexican Grand Prix Qualifying set to record
on BBC 4 HD, on two Humax recorders. Both failed due to "unable to
track signal". I watched the program, in SD, an hour later.
So what causes this? The fact it was the same on two machines implies a
problem with the information transmitted rather than a recorder fault.
I have set them both to record the actual race broadcast tonight, but I
think I'll stay up late to watch, just in case. Which
means, of course, that both machines will record the programme
flawlessly.
