About 6 months ago, I bought a used Humax Fox T2 PVR on e-bay. My own
unit had lost HDMI output, and this was to be a replacement for the few
HDMI programmes that I watch.
When it arrived, I made the output connections, and the Ethernet
cable. I loaded the CF firmware, and was able to move files to and from
the Humax to the PC, and watch the HDMI output. Before moving all the
connections and making it the default PVR, I took the original one apart
and cleaned it thoroughly. And when I put it back together, the HDMI
worked, so I left it in place, and relegated the 'new' unit to the job
of file backup.
Then, I decided to use the 'new' unit as an STB in the bedroom, which
has a TV set that does not receive HD channels. But when I took it up
and connected it to the antenna cable, directly lifted from the TV set,
it would only tune in about a dozen channels, high up in the range. I
will write them down and list them tomorrow, it it would be any help.
Does anybody have any idea what is wrong? I got my money's worth, and
it's months ago, so I have no intention of complaining to the vendor. The
next thing is to do the same strip and clean as I did on the other
unit, and see if that helps.
As usual, any help welcome.
