Does anyone know if a freeview box connected to a Sky dish would work in
Switzerland? I cancelled Sky 6 months ago and now "only" recieve free to
view channels. I know someone back in the UK who has the exact same
situation as me and he told me that he bought and hooked up a new freeview
box to his Sky dish and now gets more channels and even some in HD. Would
the freeview box work in the same way over here. Thanks in advance. Paul

Doubt you mean a Freeview box, that will receive terrestrial TV via an
aerial here in UK.
I assume you mean a Sky satellite box, my friend used one ok in Portugal,
but dish is much larger than here.

You mate must have got a Freesat box not a Freeview box.

If you are getting Sky SD on your box now then yes if you get a Freesat HD
box and connect it to your dish you will get Freesat HD services including
BBC HD and ITVHD . When you get it and fit it it will ask for a post code
as long as you put in a English post code you will get ITVHD . You will also
get the ITV and BBC that is local to that post code.

Not freeview but a Freesat box would be fine.

Subject to the dish being of sufficient size.
