Its not the first problem, my box has be gaining problems over the past few
weeks.
Like for example last night I kept having the screen freeze on me totally
but with the sound in the background continung as normal. I had to switch
off at the mains to get it working properly again.
Called Sky and they took me through firstly a planner rebuild and then a
full system restore. Neither option restored recording on that channel.
They are sending out an engineer next week.
Good job I called them though, my warranty ends today and I didn't realise.
Just as additional info I CAN record on this channel, just cannot pause or
rewind.
Well that's going to be a *total* waste of effort!
This setting is in the broadcast header - which is under the control of the
channel (the BBC in this case) and NOT Sky or the STB!
It will undoubtably be fixed when they notice it!
happened to me with bravo last week - turned the box to standby and back on
and it worked.

that fly...... is your magic wand....
Yes I see from a forum post after that it is down to the EPG. However the
box does have other issues so hopefully they will fix those instead.
True, but if it were broadcast like this, then none of us would be able to
Pause it (not that I've checked).

And you'll now have an extended 3 months of warranty! Well worth it for
free.

Well, true there is a problem in not allowing you to do that but most 24
hour news channels usually broadcast the same thing over and over in a day
anyways and usually get back to it within 30 minutes from last broadcast.
Well, that's until something major happens and everyone has just one thing
being reported and agencies can then release stuff to be buried in what's
known as the Slow News day. ;)

Which Sky channel and program are we actually talking about here? I checked
on the BBC News channel (50something) but I can Live Pause as normal.

I noticed this fault yesterday, but just put it down to yet another
buggy software update. I didn't try any other channels to see if it
was specific to particular channels
