Just been checking the Sky website to find out which is the cheapest
entertainment package which includes Kerrang channel. Kerrang doesn't
appear to be included by name in any of them!

Is it one of the 10 'Music Choice' channels in the £10 'Sky Value
Pack'?

If not, which is the cheapest pack with Kerrang?

Cheers,
MikeB

No, the music choice channels are audio only, whereas Kerrang is a TV
channel. I think the cheapest pack is the Sky Family Pack at £16 per
month.

Kerrang! is on the Family Pack which is £16. IMHO the Family Pack is best
value for money, unlike the Value Pack which is useless. You'll also get
over 10 other music channels like Q, MTV2, MTV, VH1, VH1classic, etcetera.
The Family Pack has ALL channels except the premium channels like Sky
Movies, Sports, Film4. etc. You even get SkySports.comTV channel on FP
which is handy as it has the Gillette Soccer Special show on Saturdays
(during season) just like on SS1.

Regarding Kerrang!. When I was a little younger and a complete metal head I
used to read the magazine - which was rock and metal only. I'm not sure
what the magazine is like now, but whenever I happen to pass through the TV
channel I only ever hear rap and other nonsense. Is Kerrang no longer a
rock magazine ?

Yes - but the target market for Kerrang! [I guess males 15 to 25] now
listens to nu-metal and hardcore rap as well as rock. The sort of music
Kerrang! used to cover, say 10 years ago, now tends to be known as
classic rock and is covered elsewhere.

it's called nu-metal... a mix of everything that used to not be metal mushed
into the sound that is limp biskuitt (sp?) or something.. so I'm told by my
wife who like to watch it instead on richard and judy.. :-)

Kerrang is basically trying to be the 'cool' variant of NME, which involves
putting all the crappy rap stuff they can find on and bugging everyone who
wants to listen to basically rock and metal. Decent rock stuff never gets
played on Kerrang.

For the first time ever I skipped to Kerrang last night and found some rock
music being played: G'NR's "November Rain" and a Bon Jovi track I didn't
know. At least I now know they DO play some "proper" rock music.
