For those that like to read current news in text without the ever-increasing distractions of the web, point your newsreader at the following server for hourly-updated feeds:

news.html.fail

The uk.* newsgroups are read-only but you can post to the public.* groups without an account.
Submit requests for new publications and other feedback in public.discuss. Currently the following are available:

* BBC
* Reuters
* Guardian
* Metro
* Independent
* The Register
* Manchester Evening News

There is also a web frontend in development at http://news.html.fail/

I'd subscribe if I read mainstream news sites, but I'll bear it in mind.

Thanks

Yes you're probably doing the right thing by not reading mainstream news :)
Basically it grabs articles via RSS feeds, so I can try and add anything with a feed.
