I seem to recall a site that allowed me to enter my postcode and returned
the nearest tv transmitter and aerial direction. I can't find it now - can
anyone give me the URL?

Thanks,

Allan

Click Retail Trade

Then Predicted Coverage by postcode.

There are similar services on the BBC Digital and ONDigital sites.

Sadly these are not really comprehensive - they simply either
say coverage is there or not, and any multiplexes that might not
be received. There's no confirmation of TX site or aerial types,
with the relevant frequencies - at least on this and the BBC/On
Digital web sites.

Try here http://www.bbc.co.uk/info/reception/tvpb/digit2.shtml for
*detailed* transmitter information (although I don't know how up-to-date it
is, even though it says April 2000).

A whole host of other goodies here too: http://www.bbc.co.uk/info/reception/

Both sites also have further links which may be of interest!

All the best, hope this is useful.

Thanks for the input so far, but no one has yet come up with the URL I was
looking for - I think the focus was probably not digital specific, but the
info was much more specific than predicted reception.

Thanks Alan - isn't it strange how the market has moved away
from the old Group A, B C/D, E and W types - the shops only now
sell wideband as a catch-all. For Black Hill, OnDigital support
told me I would need a Group E, which he went on to say was
wideband. I daid I thought that's what a W aerial was for (Black
Hill analogue used Group B previously).

Looks as though this one will run and run..!

Well, there's quite a lot of general info on my site, but in response to
your barely spoken query:

Not a very well named site though is it?

It reminds me of that bloke who owned the domain france.com and the french
got it back in court without any compensation to the owner.

Brian, you might change your mind if you could see a photo of the
site's founder.
He looks like an escapee from an Icelandic Saga.
