A copied card would be of no use to you as all Sky cards are locked to their
respective STB.

Although cards are locked you can get all Primary, just not Premium channels
on another decoder.
But Im not aware of any copying methods for sky digital.

Presumably the free-to-air cards are not box specific, are they?

They are FTV Cards are box-specific for BBC Channels, but not for
Channel 4/5 iirc.

There is no such thing as a FTA card BTW. I think it would be an
oxymoron. Unless an oxymoron is not what I think it is.

Yes - they are! The BBC use the card/STB matching.

So with a Pace Sky box, do I need a card to get BBC1, 2,
ITV? Can I get ANY channels without a card?

In that case, if I lived in a home with two or even three Sky boxes and
simply wanted to use them to receive the "Free to VIEW" channels, would the
BBC supply my with a card for every box? Or do they limit the supply to one
per household?

no there aint.
p.s sky digital and cable digital have talk boxes that keeps your post code and
house number.
when you mess around with them they send the details back to them.
then expect a knock at your door.
