Hi'ya
How would I find out if when the Beep up the power on the digital signel,
if I will be able to view digital telly?

PS I don't know where my nearest transmitter is?

Thanks
Jase.

You are probably currently using the Dawlish transmitter. This would be
confirmed if your channel allocations are BBC1=55/BBC 2=62/ITV1=59/C4=65.
The transmitter is located here:

http://makeashorterlink.com/?F57051CB1

Unfortunately it doesn't support DTT. You could check your postcode here to
see what it says:

http://www.dtg.org.uk/retailer/coverage.html

The nearest transmitter is likely to be Stockland Hill (just E of Honiton).
The line of sight would depend on your location - if you had a view towards
Exmouth then you may have a chance. Look here for a map:

At approx 20 miles, though, you could be out of luck. If you are keen then
it may be best to seek professional advice from an aerial installer.

Well I get perfect DTT reception in Exmouth, so if you have a clear path
across the water then you may be OK. Best to look into it though.

Thanks for that! I regularly pass through Dawlish on the train and Exmouth
certainly looks quite close across the water....

Your literary style is inimitable.

A contradiction in terms, surely!

Hi'ya
Well first of all thanks for all your help guys!

Second which I think is quite intersting,
I managed to get channel 5 working with an indoor arial!

In Holcome (Between Teignmouth and Dawlish).

Using a TV signel booster.

:-)

So if I get my prober arial pointing in the right direction and if fixed ;-)
I may have a change!

Many Thanks
Jase.

Stockland Hill (the transmitter we discussed earlier - out in a line over
Exmouth) doesn't transmit a C5 signal, so it is likely you are receiving
this from a more local analogue relay. A better test of your likely DTT
reception will be your ability to pick up BBC1/BBC2/ITV1/C4 from Stockland
directly. These are on channels 33, 26, 23, 29 respectively. The correct
aerial group for Stockland (for both analogue and digital transmissions) is
Group A - you will suffer from reduced gain with a wideband aerial, and you
need all the help you can get in your location!
