This question has probably been asked before, but I'm new to newsgroups
(screaming.net have at last got a news server!) so please don't flame
me! Does anyone know when C&W will launch their digital service in
west-london, more specificaly Greenford/Ealing, an ex-Videotron area?
October 1999 came and went (their website still says that!) and no
digital. Their phone staff don't seem to know what's going on with
analogue, let alone digital! Also, do you think the magic words "Sky
Digital", "ONDigital" or "BT" would speed them up a bit? Thanks. Oh and
if you want to mail me you have to take the X out of my address.

I'm with Cable & Wireless in Leeds, they haven't announced anything, however
on Friday I rang up to find out if they were doing a free internet deal like
everyone else and at the same time just inquired about the future of digital
cable. I was then told it was up and running and that they are not
advertising the service yet so they don't get innundtated!!!! Even worse
they then put me onto customer services who offered me free installation
because I was an existing customer. Up shot is I get digital cable next
week! So it might be worth a call.

Gave C&W a call, and I must say their customer service has improved
dramtically! No queue, and I actually spoke to someone who knew what
they were doing! Anyway, I have been told that the provisional
availibility date is 22nd May, and they put me on a mailing list so I
will be kept updated. Lets hope C&W can keep this standard up! (and
stick to that date)

I've had digital cable installed since the beginning of May. Please tell
me why you lot are still WAITING for it when it is obviously readily
available ?????
