Shed loads - if oyu have digital satelitte simply press red and see. ;)
I haven't got satellite, though, that's why I'm asking.
Ah, never knew that :)
You are very helpful, thank you ever so much.
I have digital satellite. I press red and get the menu which offers:
Subtitles Off
Teletext (ENG)
Subtitles (ENG)
So that's "shed loads", according to you? ;-)
(It's a standard receiver, not Sky brand.)

and each is divided into sub sections. So yes, pretty much shed loads there
if you are prepared to look for it :)
What I'm trying to ascertain here is the *services* that consume
bandwidth. Digital teletext consumes bugger all bandwidth.
So, could you tell me what are the "shed loads" of services, or are you
referring to there being "shed loads" of menus in digital teletext??
I'm surprised you havn't taken the opportunity to get one of the
'cheaper' satellite systems that have been on sale in the last week or
so and which received such publicity in this and other groups.
If you had done so you would have the information you want first hand.

Do they support BBCi ? My non Sky satellite receiver does not display a red
button, but I can receive the additional channels which the BBC activate for
Wimbledon, Glastonbury etc.
I am curious to know what exactly the BBC will provide for 'Interactive' and EPG
on FreeSat, what standards will be used, and what products will support them.

I have both Freeview and Sky satellite. The satellite version is a
"superset" of Freeview, ie, it always carries more services (due to
greater availabe bandwidth). On both BBC and ITV.
For example, both BBCi and ITV (text only) carry all regional news,
whereas Freeview just has local regions. On BBC, in addition to sat 6
news multiscreens (2 on Freeview), there's also lifestyle and
entertainment extra video channels, and nationwide cinema listings.
On big sporting events, BBCi normally has 6 different screens, but just
2 on Freeview.
I live in a block of flats, so I can't install satellite until I move
house.
