My impression was yes but will "small print" somewhere say with a box added?

Your impression was wrong, don't expect a TV that can receive terrestrial HD
for about a year.
Yes it is!
: What about the coming terrestrial HD?
Will need a STB. These sets only have a Freesat tuner.

Thanks will watch again and if claiming to I will report advert.
thanks
No, they have a freeview tuner and an analogue tuner too, but not a
freeview HD tuner.
I think I know the ad you mean, and it certainly gave me the impression that
the TVs were capable of receiving HD 'out of the box'. Next time it is on,
I'll pay more attention...

Apparently I mis-remembered, they *don't* have a freeview tuner, sorry
The Website gives me the same impression, but it's freeSAT, not freeVIEW
http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/711712/index.html
"... and as they're the first televisions with freesat HD built-in..."
So what would you be able to receive with a Pioneer KRP-600A:
http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/products/62/63/413/KRP-600A/index.html
It clearly has digital tuners for terrestrial and satellite, and some
ablility to handle HD but no claims to support either Freeview or Freesat.

I haven't found such small print, but the specifications say what it will do,
and this does not include terrestrial HD:
http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/1559035/index.html?trackInfo=true
Receiving System
PAL -I yes
DVB yes
DVB-S HD (H.264, FreeSat) yes
From the user's manual for TX-32LZD81 and TX-37LZD81:

This TV has a built-in freesat HD tuner.

You can enjoy sharp pictures, vivid colours, multi-channel sound, and

It includes a few paragraphs of information on DSO.

Analogue
Other sat.
Yes they do.

So no DVB-s2 tuner? That is immediate inbuilt obsolescence.

"DVB", of course.

Freesat HD receiver specs. requires a DVB-S2 tuner,
but it is currently not used AFAIK - this will very likely
change.
Lars :)
From the downloaded user-manual page 67.
"DVB-S / S2 ( freesat Other Sat.) : freesat services via Satellite
dish input"
they get freesat - not terrestrial hd.
of course if you have a satellite dish and tv with integrated satellite
tuner - hd and all, there's not much attraction to terrestrial hd - i'd bet
it will be a lower bitrate than the satellite offering.

that fly...... is your magic wand....
I have the 50" one. Very impressed with it.
Marky P.
Yeah, well I though MarkyP said they had a DVB-T tuner, then the website
seems to say they don't and the PDF of the manual only says a "DVB
Tuner" which could mean the DVB-S tuner for freesat, or it could mean a
DVB-T tuner after all ...

Not quite true, since german TV manufacturers like Loewe, Metz and
Technisat have HD sets with DVB-S2 tuners built in...
