Clicking idly through the Freesat channels I came across the Jerry
Springer Show on CBS-something-or-other. It was set in a place that had
a high gantry or walkway around the wall. Occasionally I could see a man
up there with no lower torso or legs, walking around on his hands. I
watched for ten minutes but no reference was made to this man in that
time. The programme itself was something to do with a man who didn't
like his neighbours because, he said, they kept making homosexual
advances to him.

Does anyone know anything about the legless man? I'm intrigued. There
are several references about him on newsgroups but none offer a sensible
explanation.

He's probably the news reader.

Well, maybe it was one of those experiments on human perception, like the
one where during a basketball game a man dressed as a gorilla wanders in
and few notice, thus proving that we only see what we expect to see.

Probably had too much hospitality in the Green Room.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember Bill Wright <bi...@invalid.com>
saying something like:

>Does anyone know anything about the legless man?

He's rehearsing for a production of Trading Places, the low-down bum.

I wouldn't like to be in his shoes.
