Is there multiswitch available that will take a quad LNB i/p as opposed
to a quattro LNB? I'm looking so an 8 o/p unit.

Vision used to do one, but they discontinued it a while back. You can
get 22kHz tone inserters and you could get the 13 and 18V from outboard
PSUs, but it's a faff.

Thanks Bill. Sounds like it's a lot easier to change the LNB.

This one clames to be "Quad LNB compliant: Yes" What do you think?

That's the same one I found. That short url produces an error because
the way the website works. I explained how to get to the correct page in
my other post.

Fancy that! By the way guys, that electric fire on the front page looks
rather like one I bought for £6 from Asda in an emergency. The motor
stalled after not very long and the thing then produced a lot of smoke
and scared us.

Actually your link failed and Graham's worked for me (unless it's the
sequence of visiting the site twice that does the trick).

Interesting. Your guess could be right.

Some of the Antiference iSYS 7 units provide the necessary signals to
use a quad, the ones with the 'T' suffix:

I suppose you could, yes. It's never occurred to me. You could also fit
splitters on the dish feeds and thus not lose the use of four outputs on
the existing switch. You would need to use splitters that had DC pass on
one output, so one switch would power the LNB. With the original switch
powering the LNB the ability of the second switch to control a quad
would be irrelevant. The splitter loss is negligible because on any
normal installation because the signal levels throughout are far above
receiver threshold levels.

How long is a piece of string? For the earth bonding, cable, and
triplexed outlet, maybe Ł120 to Ł160 if it's a reasonable cable route.

Are you sure the old Devil isn't in the basement?
