I felt steam coming out of my ears shortly after 10pm this evening when I
realised that "Waking The Dead" on BBC 1 and "The Secret War On Terror" on
BBC2 had not been recorded on my Humax 9300T. They did not show in the list
of recorded programmes nor did they show on the recording schedule as they
had done earlier in the evening. I wonder if anyone else had similar
failures? I receive a strong Freeview signal from the Rosneath relay
transmitter in Scotland and had recorded several other programmes
successfully over the past few days.

That happened to Ice Road Truckers last week, on my Topfield. It
generated an 0 Mb file.

This happens on rare occasions. The repeat worked OK.

I don't know if there's some kind of transmission glitch, sort of like
an anti-Freeview Plus signal, that goes out from time to time. I think
it's more common on BBC4, especially on the first programme of the
evening - I set the thing to start two minutes early and overrun at
the end which works 99+% of the time.

I never have any trouble recording programmes, its just that the BBC seem
unable to find anyone who can read the Radio Times and be able to press the
play buton at the time advertised, so nearly always, the end of the
programme is missing!

Here in Scotland we had a BBC1 Scotland programme on the Clydebank
blitz. I set my Humax HD box to record, which failed showing 1 minute
in the menu and an error message. My friend set her Humax 9150 to
record the same programme and that failed also. This was Black Hill
(aka Blackhill).

I wonder if that's available on iplayer?

I was born in Clydebank.

In my experience it's usually the start that's missing. On my
Panasonic recorder the queuing indicator flashes a minute or two
before the program starts but it is still flashing for a few seconds
after the start. Thus the start is missing.
