I work with an A8100 vision mixer which has an annoying fault, which
is difficult to fix now that Abekas doesn't exist and the machines are
no longer serviced, but not bad enough to persuade my production
company to pay for it to be sent out and hire in another while it's
gone.
The problem: any key that uses a wipe pattern as its source has a
vertical offset, so for example a vertical centre wipe starts about
two thirds down the screen instead of the centre and as it nears the
top of the screen a wipe starts appearing from the top (this is the
other end of the pattern which should be at the bottom). Normal wipes
are not affected, only when I use a wipe pattern for a key and I am
aware that a different timing set up is used for the two, that is not
the problem.
I would be grateful to hear from anyone who has come across anything
like this before.

Abekas still exists, but now within Accom. They do still service their
products, don't they?
You might want to try editsuite.com and post your question there.

Good luck!

Funny that, since Abekas stopped making them when they introduced the
DVEous.

Sorry about that, I should have explained. It's www.editsuite.com , a site
set up for
Axial/DVEous users, but it's become a bit more than that. You might find an
engineer
or editor who's come across the same problems.
